On an ordinary morning in October 2025, an idea just hit me.
I always write in my planner every morning. Setting time blocks for each task is part of my routine. But here's the problem: sometimes I miss a time block or completely forget about a task. I wanted notifications to keep me on track, but I didn't want to abandon my planner and fully transition to digital calendars.
That's the moment SnapJournal sparked in my mind. What if I could just take a picture of my planner and have the app automatically transform my handwritten schedule into digital calendar events? Paper for planning, digital for reminders.
From idea to execution
What started as a scribble in my notebook turned into months of designing, programming, debugging, and deploying. I started a company along the way. I ran AI benchmarks to find the right vision model. I wrestled with CI/CD pipelines and self-hosted email automation. There were moments where I questioned whether I'd ever ship it.
It's on the App Store
And now, SnapJournal is live on the App Store.
Literally from my scribbles of the idea to an app you can download on your phone. That still feels surreal to say.

This is just the beginning. SnapJournal started as a way to bridge paper planners and digital calendars, but the vision goes much further. There's a lot more I want to build, and I'll keep sharing the journey here.
Thank you
